I think I've finally figured out what I'm going to say to those seventh years, though how exactly I'm going to sum it up, I haven't decided.

I've spent the last couple of work days listening to Marla's constant sobbing and rambling about how her boyfriend's up and left her for another girl-- honestly, I could have told her that was going to happen. Though I doubt the constant exposure to the big looming horde of Dementors we've got circling the place is helping her along any. I'd give her a couple of days off if it were within my power, but of course it's not, so I have to keep my fingers crossed that the big bad boss lady will bestow some generosity and give Marla a few extra sick days. Which is about as likely as a phoenix flying out of her ear.

I need to go take a shower and get into bed-- I hate having to sleep during the daytime. I've gotten used to it by now, but I still don't like it.

So, I've just been asked to speak in front of the Hogwarts seventh years about Azkaban. "Sparing no details," he says.

I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this one.

I know I should be mature
keep my feet on the floor
but for some reason,
I just don't want them anymore

Letting the Fireplace Flame, Anni DiFranko

Today was a comparably slow day. There were no new prisoners, and generally nothing to do but sit, drink coffee, and chat. I think the boys have gotten used to the fact that their superior is female, which is a good thing for all of us because our lives would still be hell, otherwise. When your job is to control a mass of Dementors, it's in the best interest of everyone for them to get along. The people, not the Dementors.

I got an owl from my little brother today-- he says the business is booming more than ever, and I should come take a look. I don't like "the business", but I may come, because so far I'm off this weekend. First one in two months, so I'm excited. The officers had better use their brains within the next couple of days, or I won't get the break I've been waiting for.

Otherwise, I have no plans other than sitting at home an relaxing. Merlin knows I haven't done that for awhile, so it's a welcome change of pace. If any of you are interested in doing anything, though, let me know.
